An Embroidery Thread Tip

When I received my embroidery machine I knew that I wanted to have a good selection of thread colors on hand.  I purchased a set of 63 spools of 40 weight Polyester Embroidery Machine Thread by Embroidex.  I love the colors and the thread is a nice quality at a good price.  When I opened the first spool I found a small problem –  when I put the spool on the machine the label would be useless.

I found a solution that works for me – and hopefully will help newbies out!  After unwrapping the thread I removed the label slowly so it doesn’t tear.  With a bent tweezer I placed the label on the inside of the spool.  I also write the color number on the top an bottom edges of the spool with a Sharpie marker.  This has worked out really well for me.

If you have additional tips please share in a comment!

  1. I put the #s on my spools too, Anton Robison, but never thought to put the little paper with the name inside the spool. Although I can find the name of the color by the #. Thank you

I am having a hard time finding a single spool of embroidex thread #337. Do you know where I can purchase it? Or any other single spools of embroidex.
